Focus on what you can control
Let go of the things you don’t have a control on and just focus on what you can control. If you recently lost a loved one, make peace with the fact that there’s nothing you can do to bring them back. Instead, focus on how you would want your loved one to be remembered.
If the person you lost imparted some meaningful life lessons to you, then you can use their teachings and start applying them to your life. If you and your deceased spouse have kids, focus your energy on taking care of them.
Surround yourself with people who can help

Of course, all of these are easier said than done. But you should at least try to emerge from your stupor because you’re the one who’s still alive. That means you owe it to the person who passed on to continue living and find out what’s in store for you.
