Should You Have Traditional Braces or Invisalign?

Unlike in the past, the dental industry has only offered a limited selection of procedures such as the typical metal brackets. Most people dislike the idea of having them for aesthetic reasons. However, new treatments such as invisible braces have changed that perception.

Invisible Braces

Invisalign serves as a shorter term for invisible aligners. Aside from its bare visibility, the key difference of this treatment from traditional braces involves being able to remove them. Hence, patients have found it much easier to adjust to a new sensation from their teeth.

However, take note that you should at least wear them for up to 22 hours each day. That does not include when you need to eat or brush your teeth. An average course of treatment lasts for as long as two years. In some cases, patients can stop using them after just two months.

Perfect Smile

In the U.K., more people have wanted to have straighter teeth by having Invisalign. In Sutton Coldfield, prices may be lower compared with London and other cities. Aside from invisible braces, the increased use of electric toothbrushes among Britons also reflected a trend of wanting perfect teeth.

One in three people has switched from using a manual toothbrush to an electric one since 2008. That is according to Kantar Worldpanel. However, that’s not because Britons have become more concerned about oral health. Instead, a desire to have an American-style of perfectly white teeth drives this trend. Industry figures support this claim as sales of teeth whiteners rose more than 10 % since 2013.

Consult a dentist to find out if Invisalign is the right choice of orthodontic treatment for you, especially if you are unsure of traditional braces.
